St. Patrick’s Day at Drink

What: Imbibe classic Irish stouts and choice whiskeys (Red Breast, John Sullivan) in a calm, green beer-free setting.
Why: Special menu includes oysters with Guinness mignonette and black and white pudding.

What: Chase cheapo beer with three local bands (The Unholy Mackerels; The Boys of Town; Maguire, Fitzpatrick & Frey) dishing cover tunes and traditional Irish sounds.
Why: Ten dollar cover benefits Meals on Wheels of Jamaica Plain and Dedham.
When: Tues., 8-11 p.m.

TASTE
Green Wine for St. Patty’s Day
What: Vino experts pontificate on Irish-owned vineyards before doling out organic, vintage sips and a pour of Bunratty Meade.
Why: The chance to sample vinho verde (green wine) from Portugal.
When: Wed., 7-8 p.m.
Where: Downtown Wine & Spirits, 225 Elm St., Davis Square (617-625-7777).

INDULGE
Chocolate Tasting at Finale
What: Five choc-heavy delicacies (praline krispies, milk chocolate cheesecake) matched with a different dessert wine.
Why: It’s American Chocolate Week. (Who knew?)
When: Tues., 6:30-8 p.m.
Where: 1306 Beacon St., Coolidge Corner (617-232-3233). Reservations required.
